Ayurvedic Nutrition for a Healthy Gut

In this long course, Shreejan will take us on a deep dive into Ayurveda and our Gut Health where we will discuss:

  • Yogic techniques: postures, breath, meditation with a take home protocol

  • Diet: food selection for your unique body constitution, cooking, timing, fasting, and more

  • Truths/Myths of metabolism and methods of enhancement

  • Hydration procedures

  • Herbology techniques: supplements and minerals

  • The mind’s contribution to healthy gut: Stress Management

Schedule of Zoom meetings:

Lecture on Wednesdays, 6-8PM: March 6, 13, 20, 27

Movement on Saturdays, 5-6:30PM: March 9, 16, 23, 30

Wednesday classes are required as you’ll be part of a learning cohort. Saturday classes are optional. All classes are recorded and available to view later.

The Science of Life focuses on the balance of the 5 elements which compose everything in the known universe including everything in your body and everything you eat.

Who should attend?

Anyone with mild or severe malfunction of the GI, or who have a curiosity to learn about prevention with natural methods.

Those with Mild Malfunction of the GI may experience:

  1. Loss of appetite

  2. Lethargy

  3. Recurrent infection

  4. Constipation/diarrhea

  5. Incomplete urination, difficulty sweating

  6. Improper sense organ function (floaters, tinnitus, etc)

  7. Depression

Those with Severe Malfunction of the GI may experience:

  1. Edema- any collected fluids

  2. Marked loss of energy

  3. Loss of enthusiasm

  4. Improper sleep

Fun historical fact: Because scientists believed that symptoms of the body had much to do with the mind and spirit in the 17th century, patients showing these features were believed to be under demonic possession and, in later, centuries, were considered insane. They were relegated to asylums and were excluded from scientific study. They could not be dissected because it was believed that the soul was contained within the body.

2013 Survey: 74% of Americans are living with severe digestive disorders. Only 50% of them ever discuss it with their doctor.
